As of September 2026:
If you (or your child) would like to join the club as an individual new Adult member, a Young Adult member or a Junior member, you can join automatically and simply on the court booking system website. Please click on this link
https://tennishampetersham.mycourts.co.uk/member_enrollment.asp
On the left hand side of the webpage that appears, you will see "Join Ham & Petersham Tennis Club". Click on this and complete your details (or the details of your child) and pay the subscription (see below) by debit or credit card. You (or your child) will be joined as a member automatically. This simple automatic membership procedure for individuals cannot unfortunately be used for applications for joint Family membership.
If you would like to become Family group members, please send in an emailed application form for membership. Please download a membership application form at

Or on this website click on About Our Club, then click on Documents, then click on Membership Application Form, and complete it and email it to our membership secretary, Steve Hayes, email address
membership.tennishampetersham@gmail.com
You will be given details of how to pay your membership subscription by debit or credit card through our court booking system.
We are a private members' club; members may only play other members. However, members may play a guest on three 1 hour slots each membership year. This could be playing the same guest three times for a total of 3 hours, or alternatively playing different guests on a total of three occasions of 1 hour each time. Members may not play for more than 2 hours a day.
Subscriptions (no joining fee, or court booking fees):
Adult subscription: £100 a year. All subscriptions are from now to 30th April 2027.
Junior (under 18 as at 1st May 2026) subscription: £40 a year.
Young Adult (aged 18 and over, and under 25, as at 1st May 2026): £50 a year.
Family membership: Family membership is available at £200 a year to families of up to 2 adults plus any number of children under 18 (on 1st May 2026) living with them in the same household.
New members joining the club pay the full subscription if they join the club between 1st May and 1st October in any year; new members joining the club between 1st October and 30th April pay a reduced subscription for the period up to the following 30th April.
We share the courts with Grey Court School. Grey Court School has absolute priority to play during all weekdays (during term time) up to late afternoon. Sometimes they indicate informally to us that they do not intend to use the courts on (say) Tuesdays. We then make the courts available to be booked on Tuesdays through our booking system. But Grey Court School is entitled to change its court requirements at any time, even on short (or no) notice. So, even if you have booked a court online for a weekday in school term time, Grey Court School has the complete right to take over all the courts at any time. If this happens when you are playing, or about to play, please leave the courts immediately without complaint. Failure to do this might mean that the school might no longer make court slots (which they expect not to need to use) available to us. It only needs one of our members to argue with the school (in such circumstances) to lose us their future co-operation.
This rarely happens. But if you are booking a court and wish to be sure you won’t be “bumped” by the school, during term-time you should book a slot after school hours or during the weekend. During school holidays, at any available time.
“I would like to meet new people in the area”:
It may be that you are new to the area, and are interested in joining the tennis club to make new friends. What can we offer? Well, first I should say that as a small club run by unpaid volunteers, we can’t offer the full social facilities that would be offered by a larger commercially run club, say the David Lloyd clubs of this world (which are considerably more expensive). We can offer social tennis mix-ins which take place every Saturday from 10-12 and every Tuesday, also from 10-12 (sometimes 10.15-12.15 in the summer). These are for adult members only. No booking, just turn up and play. We also have a couple of American tournaments each summer, on Saturday mornings, 10-12. These are social occasions (not particularly competitive, for members of an average standard), usually followed by drinks and a light lunch in the clubhouse or outside. We also have our club championships each summer, in which all members can take part. We also have a social tennis WhatsApp group; typical posts are about whether it is going to be too wet to play, changes due to court cleaning, tennis camps etc, someone saying they are coming along for the first time etc. For children, we have quite a few junior members who attend local schools, eg Grey Court School, the German School Petersham etc. The coaches run group and individual classes for children.
The coaches are not employed by the club. The club does not arrange classes, coaching etc. Enquiries about coaching and classes should be made to the coaches (see Coaching page in Information section), not through the club. All enquiries phone Katrina on 07817 687506 or Mark on 07983 624984.
